The Importance of Teeth Cleaning for Children

Our Woodlands dental office understands the importance of keeping teeth healthy and clean through the process of a dental cleaning procedure. Dental cleanings aren’t simply for adults. We recommend that children undergo the preventive oral procedure. We call it preventive because a dental cleaning, which includes a thorough oral examination, allows our pediatric dentists to observe the health of a child’s mouth and find any possible cavities or dental ailments before they worsen. The dental staff at Signature Smiles are highly trained to provide the highest level of comfort for every child throughout the teeth cleaning process.

Since children are typically very visual, our pediatric dentist will discuss what the dental cleaning process is followed by a demonstration of the procedure. Once the child has a good understanding of what will take place, the dentist proceeds to begin the teeth cleaning process.

I highly recommend this dentist office, especially for parents with children. My kids didn’t want to leave. They have a video game waiting area, plus they don’t push little ones out of their comfort zone. They did a great job on caring for my kids teeth as well.

Our kid’s dental hygienist will inspect the health of the teeth and gums. The kids dentist will begin with a tooth scraper to remove plaque from the teeth, which will help fight bacteria and keep the gums and teeth protected. The dental hygienist will brush and floss your child’s teeth thoroughly to remove any excess plaque.

Once the dental procedure is completed, we will provide instructions to the parents and child for how to properly maintain their teeth, such as brushing, flossing, and other oral maintenance tips.

We recommend making regular checkups at our dental office twice a year for regular child dental exams and dental cleanings to prevent cavities and other teeth related problems that might occur.
