Why Invisalign Braces May Be Right for You

Of the past 20 years, Invisalign braces may be the most heralded dental innovation. At Signature Smiles in Houston, we have been a Premier Provider of Invisalign for quite some time. This is because so many Houstonians trust us with their teeth and oral health.

WHAT IS INVISALIGN?

You may be wondering just that. Invisalign are clear braces, typically referred to as plastic tray aligners. These dental braces options have continued to rise in demand and our three dental offices in The Heights, The Woodlands, and Humble continue to supply the demand.

For patients, adults and kids alike, who think their smile could look a bit better, Invisalign or Invisalign Teen is the perfect solution. These plastic tray aligners are customized for each individual patient. A patient is refitted with a new pair every two weeks as the teeth continue to adjust to the desired alignment.

These clear braces are required to be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. We highly recommend 22 hours. The plastic tray aligners can be removed for a couple of hours per day to allow for eating and to allow the patient to thoroughly clean their teeth (brushing, flossing, rinsing).

Our orthodontist, Dr. Gary Gardner, along with our other dentists who provide braces for patients, encourage patients who don’t want their appearance to change too much to choose Invisalign. These braces are also best for teeth that are not extreme cases. Teeth that are gapped or slightly crooked or misaligned are great candidates for Invisalign.

For those extreme cases, such as patients who suffer from malocclusion, we suggest traditional metal braces, or at least ceramic braces. These types of braces are stronger and will adjust teeth quicker than Invisalign.
